Welcome to this week's Three to Read! I have finally worked out how to schedule a blog post, as this Monday is my first day back at work and I want to make sure that this post appears on time without needing to worry about it! So here are three posts that I have enjoyed reading this week:
Firstly I was interested to read Mummy Rates It - What happened to Sports Day? We're a few years off this yet, but I was surprised to see how much things have changed, I wonder what it's like in our local school.
Secondly, I am cheating a bit because this is actually a post from a few weeks ago Cassandra Parkin - Fifty Things That Annoy Me About "Fifty Shades of Grey" Relevant to me this week though because the other night I could not resist the hype any longer and downloaded the book in question. I can't say that it has particularly gripped me so far, but this blog post certainly increased my enjoyment of the first couple of chapters and there is more to come, definitely worth a read if you've read the book!
Finally I enjoyed this post We Are Wild Things - Party Bags (eco-friendly'ish). Putting together party bags is something else that I yet to experience properly, and Bek has some lovely ideas!
As always, if you have read any posts this week that have really stood out to you, please feel free to include a link in the comments.

I always enjoy your three-to-reads! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad that you enjoy them, thanks for letting me know!
DeleteI love the blog about Fifty Shades of Grey. I have read about the hype (but not read the book). This was just so funny!
ReplyDeleteI think that this post is what made me want to read the book, just to see if it really was as bad as that (it is!)
DeleteHello Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning me and for pointing me in the direction of other blogs to read. Like Helen above I keep hearing about 50 shades but haven't actually got round to reading it yet. In fact just this afternoon one school mum said she'd give me her copy. I saw on Tots 100 today that there's a Twitter account called @50shedsofgrey - love it. Well done on scheduling the post - I did that last week - very handy. You probably already know this but if you use TweetDeck you can also schedule a tweet - so you can therefore schedule a post and tweet to coincide. Thanks again. Michelle x
You're welcome! If you can get hold of a copy then you should give it a go, I'm not very far through it yet but it's a very easy read and quite amusing (probably not intended as such though!). I've not tried TweetDeck, thanks for the recommendation, I may need to give it a go now that I can no longer spend every day glued to Twitter! @50shedsofgrey is very funny!
DeleteHope your first day back went well? Just read your about me versatile blogger post - I loved the Katy bookd and the blue door theatre brought back happy memories x
ReplyDeleteYes thank you, my return to work went well, although I think that the novelty will wear off! I'm glad to remind you of some of my favourite classic children's books!
