The other day, I did something which was rather out of character. I read a post from Annie aka Mammasaurus, who has just returned from Ghana to raise awareness about the way that money donated to Comic Relief has been spent since it started in 1988.
That was not the out of character bit, I regularly read Annie's blog. But in the post Annie was asking for people to join her in climbing Snowdon to kick off the fundraising for this year's Comic Relief.

I live nearly 300 miles from Snowdon, and a quick look at train tickets made it very clear that it would cost me much more to get there than I could raise in sponsorship. But then Annie very kindly offered me a lift most of the way, and I realised that actually this was something that I really wanted to do! Admittedly it's been a little while since I last climbed a mountain, but I am really looking forward to doing it and raising some money for a fantastic cause.
So I've signed up, I have joined #teamhonk, and I'm ready to climb Snowdon with a group of people that I have never met! We are climbing in a couple of weeks on the 2nd of March 2013, so I don't have much time to get nervous. I will be digging out the walking boots and frantically working out at the gym to prepare!
