With summer approaching I'm on the look out for some fun new activities to try with the children, and my latest Book Buddy review book from Parragon is packed with ideas to inspire us. Project Dad: Make Every Day an Adventure with Dad! contains 20 exciting projects with clear instructions and images.
I'm trying to ignore the fact that it says Dad on the cover, although I can see that it is intended as a book which could be bought as a gift for a Dad to give them some inspiration for things that they can do with the children. To be honest in our household it's usually me that comes up with and carries out the activities like this anyway, so I'm thinking that it's going to be more relevant to me and I'm fine with that!
There are all sorts of projects included in the book, divided into The Great Outdoors and Fun At Home. Some of them are active and adventurous activities, like building a campfire, going on a scavenger hunt or building an outdoor shelter. Others are quieter and more reflective projects, like creating a nature scrapbook or playing a game of imaginative questions. There are some recipes for fun in the kitchen and ideas for role play like building a cardboard box castle.
The book is spiral bound so it will lay flat, a really great idea especially for the projects that have step by step instructions that you need to follow, it makes it much easier to use.
I'm going to pass this book to Harry to give him some inspiration for our Summer Activity List, and hopefully he'll spot the Dad on the cover and rope in Ram to help with some of them! In particular there are some great outdoor ideas which we'll be able to incorporate into our summer camping trips, I'm thinking about starting by making our own Explorer Kit.
I received this book from the publisher for free. However, they have not paid me for this review, and they do not exercise any editorial control over my review or anything else on this site. This book is priced at £10, Amazon link is affiliate.
