Apart from that I really don't I am a great believer in filling the table with cardboard boxes, glitter, glue, paper, etc and just letting them go for it. Thats probably why there is rarely any children's crafts on my blog, they are all a sight! I do think when they are as young as yours you do need to influence things a bit until they develop a flair for crafts and making. The mum of all tradeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15834277006933337733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6423082959141413481.post-17460153817709246322012-04-19T21:19:41.224+01:002012-04-19T21:19:41.224+01:00Oh I am terrible for throwing a little strop mysel...Oh I am terrible for throwing a little strop myself when crafts don't go as I had planned! I try to stay away from detailed tutorials though, because as you say you end up photographing each part and never getting properly involved with the activity. I tend to just stick up a photograph with the materials and brief instructions and let people work it out for themselves!

Thanks for your comment!Jennifer Jainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06135607034769804251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6423082959141413481.post-39616335147325173202012-04-19T12:14:19.455+01:002012-04-19T12:14:19.455+01:00This post really struck a chord with me. So much so that my blog became a big of a crafty one with tutorials and all that and the end product became by only concern. I became obsessed in making sure that I photographed all the stages and it ended up having to look a certain way. It was spoiling all their fun. I became all about making it right for other people to follow on the blog. So I stopped doing my child's craft showcase and let the boys take the lead and we have so much more fun, they get so much more out of it. I sit on my hands. I still blog a lot of the things they do, but with less instructions and frequency. It certainly sucked all the fun out of things for themJen Walshawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07374363403295342745noreply@blogger.com
