I've been fascinated by felt play food for ages, there are so many fantastic examples all over the web. Well I recently joined Pinterest and found so much inspiration there that I thought I'd give it a go. I'm not much of a sewer and I don't have a sewing machine, but these are my first attempts at some felt biscuits.

I am so pleased with how they turned out! It has given me the confidence to try out some different types of food. I just hope that the little ones like them!
I took my inspiration from this Folksy seller and these cookies.
My children love playing with their pretend food! If you like these felt biscuits you might also like my felt sandwich and salt dough and felt pizza. I have also made cardboard play biscuits and realistic laminated play food for toy saucepans.

These are so clever!
ReplyDeleteI am not very crafty, but would love a tutorial to follow so I could attempt these :) Did you just glue them together or hand stitch them?
Thanks again for de-lurking on my blog!

I'm glad you like them, and thanks for visiting!
DeleteI cut out the two main shapes for the biscuits from felt (using a cup for the template) and stitched them together, with a small amount of stuffing in the middle. I don't know what stitch I used (I'm not really much of a sewer!), but it just kind of went round the edges if that makes sense!
I sewed the smaller pieces on too (before joining the two larger biscuit pieces together) but you could glue them on.
Hope that helps!
The party rings are amazing! Really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOmg! Love these! So gonna have a go at making them!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, they are very easy!
DeleteYour very first post! I love them, do they still play with them?
ReplyDeleteThey do, in fact they play with them more now than they did when I made them! We have some other felt food that I have made and Harry loves mixing it all up together.
